Thrust bearing — inspection and replacement (Honda Civic 3)

1. The clutch support bearing is pressed into the engine flywheel and is designed to support the primary shaft of the gearbox. The bearing does not require packing with grease.

2. Check the rotation of the bearing with your finger. The outer ring of the bearing should fit tightly. If the bearing is damaged, replace it:

3. Remove the flywheel (see Chapter 2A).

4. Knock out the old bearing using a drift and hammer.

5. Press in the new bearing.

6. Install the flywheel.

7. Assemble the car.
