2. Remove the air filter assembly (Chapter 4).
3. Remove the camshaft cover (Chapter 2A).
4. Set the piston of the first cylinder to TDC (Chapter 2A).
5. Adjust the valve clearances of the first cylinder.
6. Start by adjusting the intake valve.
Note: Most engine models have 2 intake valves. Both valves are adjusted separately. Adjustment is made using a flat feeler gauge with a spanner and a screwdriver.
7. Adjust the exhaust valve clearance. On models with four valves per cylinder, adjust both exhaust valves.
8. Turn the crankshaft 180° and adjust the clearances in the third cylinder.
9. Turn the crankshaft 180° and adjust the clearances in the fourth cylinder.
10. Turn the crankshaft 180° and adjust the clearances in the second cylinder.
11. Check the clearances again, going through all the cylinders.
12. Install the removed parts.
