1. Check high-voltage wires at night (not in the garage!) with the engine running. If you can see the glow of the wires or the breakdown of the insulation on the body, replace the wires and inspect the distributor cap and rotor.
2. When replacing wires, do not confuse the ignition order, it is better to mark the wires. Inspect and, if necessary, replace the rubber wire caps at both ends.
3. Remove the distributor cap. Inspect it for cracks, deposits, scorching, and loss of contact.
4. Remove the rotor, inspect it. If defects are found in the rotor and cover, replace them.
5. Check the resistance of the wires installed in the cover. If resistance is greater than recommended, replace wires and/or distributor cap
