Spark plugs — inspection and replacement (Honda Civic 3)

1. The spark plugs are replaced using a special head with a rubber washer that prevents damage to the insulator.

2. Before installing a new spark plug, adjust the spark gap between the side and central electrodes. The gap size is indicated on the label under the hood. When adjusting the gap, bend only the side electrode.

3. Work with the spark plugs one at a time to avoid mixing up the ignition order.

4. Before dismantling, clean the area around the spark plug from dirt.

5. To make it easier to install the spark plug into its socket, place a tube about 10 cm long and with an internal diameter of 5-6 mm on the spark plug insulator.

6. Tighten the spark plugs to the recommended torque.
