Step-up and step-down switches (Honda Civic 7)

Examination

1. Remove the steering wheel trim with airbag (see chapter "Supplementary Restraint System (SRS)").

2. Disconnect the connector shown in the figure.



3. Check for continuity between terminals #3 and #4 of the connector when the boost switch (+) is pressed. Check for no continuity between the above terminals when the switch is released.

4. Check for continuity between terminals #3 and #4 of the connector when the down-switch (-) is pressed. Check for no continuity between the above terminals when the switch is released.

Replace switches and wiring if necessary.

Replacement

1. Remove the steering wheel trim with airbag (see chapter "Supplementary Restraint System (SRS)").

2. Remove the steering wheel (see chapter "Steering").

3. Remove the plate (A).

4. Remove 3 screws (B) and remove the rear cover (C) of the steering wheel.



5. Disconnect the connector (D) of the manual shift switch.



6. Loosen the screws (E) and remove the upshift and downshift switches (F).

Note: Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
