Switches in the car interior (Honda CR-V 2)

Ignition switch

0: Position for inserting and removing the ignition key.

I: Position in which power is supplied to individual devices, such as a radio, without starting the engine.

II: Key position while driving.

III: Engine start position. After starting, release the key. The key will automatically return to position "II".

Removal the key

Set the selector lever to position "P". In position "I", press the key and turn it to position "O".

Note:

• After removing the ignition key, the steering wheel is locked.
• If the selector lever is not in the "P" position, it will not be possible to turn the ignition key to the "O" position and remove it.
• If the key does not turn from position "O" to position "I", you must unlock the steering wheel by turning it right and left.

Note: After stopping the engine, do not leave the key in position "II" or "I" for a long time, as this may discharge the battery.

Warning signal to remove the key

If you decide to leave the car with the ignition key in position "O" or "I" (opened the door on the driver's side), a beep will sound to remind you to remove the key.

Headlight switch, on and off

Regardless of the position of the ignition key, turning the headlights on and off is carried out as follows.

Caution: When the engine is off, do not leave the headlights on for long periods of time. This may result in battery drain.

Sound signal warning about the lights being on

If you decide to leave the car (when opening the driver's door) and the ignition key is in position "I" or "O", a warning sound will sound.

Switching headlights

If you press the lever forward, the high beam will turn on; if you pull the lever back, the low beam will turn on. When the high beam is turned on, the indicator on the instrument panel lights up.

High beam headlight signaling

If you pull the lever further than the low beam position, the high beam will come on for the time you hold the lever.

Automatic headlight leveling

The headlight angle is adjusted automatically depending on the vehicle load.

If the system is faulty, contact a service station.

Fog light switch

To turn on, align the ON sign on the headlight switch with the fog light sign.

Turn signal switch

Used when the ignition key is in position "II". Usually the shift is made to position 1. In these positions, with a small steering angle, the lever may not automatically return to its original position. In this case, return the lever manually. When changing lanes, hold the lever lightly in position 2.

Windscreen wiper/washer switch

Warning!

• In cold weather, do not turn on the washer until the glass warms up.
• Do not operate the windshield wipers without spraying fluid. Otherwise, you may scratch the glass or damage the rubber wiper blades.
• If the washer fluid does not spray, turn off the washer. If the washer operates without supplying liquid, the pump may break down.
• In winter, the wipers may freeze to the glass, so warm up the windshield first. If you turn on the windshield wiper when it is frozen, the blade may be damaged or the windshield wiper motor may break.

The windshield wiper operates when the ignition key is in position "II".

MIST function

If you pull the lever up, the cleaner will operate in high speed mode (mIST function). Convenient during fog or light rain.

Automatic mode

Set the lever to the AUTO position. The wiper will operate once and then automatically select the desired mode according to the rain sensor data.

Setting the sensor sensitivity

The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted by turning the ring on the switch.

Caution: When the ignition key is in position "II" and the windshield wiper lever is in the AUTO position, if you wipe the glass above the rain sensor with your hand or a cloth, the windshield wiper may automatically start working.

Note

• If it is snowing, the sensor cannot automatically determine the correct mode, so set the switch to LO or HI.
• Do not allow the glass above the sensor to become dirty, as this may cause malfunctions.
• The windshield wiper may be activated due to dirt, moisture, oil drops or insects getting on the glass above the sensor.
• If, despite changing weather, the windshield wiper operates in the same mode, the rain sensor may be damaged. In this case, contact a service station.

Setting the windshield wiper intervals (models without automatic wiper)

The wiper interval can be changed by turning the ring.



If the vehicle speed increases during intermittent wiper operation, the interval may be shortened by approx. by 4 seconds compared to working in a stationary position.

At the start of movement, the windshield wiper may operate once.

Windshield washer

If you pull the switch lever towards you, the windshield will be washed with liquid, the windshield wiper will start working, after releasing the lever, the wiper blades will make another 2-3 passes.

Rear window

OFF - The cleaner is turned off

ON - The cleaner is working. When turned on, the brushes make 2 passes and then begin to work in intermittent mode

If you turn the lever and hold it in this position, the glass will be washed with liquid, the windshield wiper will start working, after releasing the lever, the wiper blades will make another 2-3 passes.

Note.

• If the rear window is raised, the rear window wiper and washer do not operate.
• If the rear door window is raised while the windshield wiper is operating, the windshield wiper will stop operating. To resume operation, close the window, turn the wiper off and on again.
• If during operation of the wiper the ignition key is turned from position "II" to any other, the wiper stops working.

Rear Window Defogger Switch

The heater operates when the ignition key is in position "II".

When you press the button, the heater turns on (the indicator on the button lights up).

To turn off the heater, press the button again (the indicator on the button goes out).

Note:

• The rear window defroster uses a lot of electricity, so turn it off after the ice has melted. Do not use the heater at low engine speeds.
• The heating strips are located on the inside of the rear window. They can be easily scratched, so wipe the glass with a soft cloth. Also, be careful not to scratch the strips with the items you are transporting.
• At the same time as the rear window heater, the heating of the outside rearview mirrors is switched on.

Hazard warning switch

Emergency alarm system (all lights and turn signal indicators are flashing) works regardless of the position of the ignition key.

The hazard warning lights are activated in the event of an unexpected stop on the roadway.

Warning: Use this switch only in emergency situations. Even with a fully charged new battery, in case of long-term operation (approx. in 2 hours) the hazard warning light charge is reduced to such an extent that starting the engine will be impossible.

Horn

The sound signal is activated by pressing the steering wheel pad.
