To ensure smooth and shock-free shifting, all forward gears are synchronized. The gearbox has a locking device that eliminates the possibility of direct shifting from fifth gear to reverse gear. When shifting the gearbox "up" (to the highest levels) or "down" (to the lower levels) disengage the clutch completely. After moving the gearshift lever to the next gear, smoothly release the clutch pedal. Do not keep your foot on the clutch pedal while driving in any gear. This can lead to rapid wear of the clutch components.

Engage reverse gear only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop. Attempting to engage reverse gear while the vehicle is moving may cause transmission failure. Disengage the clutch completely and pause briefly for a few seconds before engaging reverse gear. Instead of pausing briefly, you can engage and disengage one of the forward gears and then immediately move the lever to the reverse gear position. The described techniques for engaging reverse gear prevent the shock engagement of the gear due to residual rotation of the gears.

To slow down your vehicle, you can use engine braking by shifting the gearbox to one of the lower gears. Engine braking allows you to control the vehicle speed at a safe level and prevents the brakes from overheating when driving on long descents with a significant slope. Shift the gearbox to lower gears sequentially, as the speed decreases, to prevent the engine from exceeding the maximum permissible crankshaft speed. After engaging a lower gear, monitor the engine speed using the tachometer (if it is present on the car). The tachometer needle should not go into the red zone of the scale. In all cases, you should focus on the values of the maximum speed of the car in different gears, given in Specifications.

Warning! When driving on a slippery road surface, sudden deceleration or acceleration may result in loss of control of the vehicle and an accident, which may result in injury. Be especially careful if the road surface condition does not provide reliable traction for the vehicle wheels.
