Moving the selector lever
Note:
- Set the automatic transmission selector lever to the desired position without error.
- If you move the lever to the left when moving from position P and then press the brake pedal, the lever may not move to the desired position. You must first press the brake pedal and then move the lever.
- If the ignition key is in position "I" or "0", the lever will not move out of position P, even with the brake pedal depressed.
L mode (low gear)
If you press the L mode switch when the automatic transmission selector lever is in position "2", first gear will be engaged and will not shift further (the indicator on the instrument cluster lights up).
If you press the L mode switch again or move the automatic transmission selector lever out of position "2", the L mode is cancelled (the indicator on the instrument cluster goes out).
Note: If the vehicle speed is higher than approximately 50 km/h, pressing the L mode switch does not shift from second to first gear.
Speed limits
To avoid exceeding critical engine speeds, do not drive faster than the speeds listed in the table.
Caution: On slippery roads, wheelspin may occur as a result of sudden engine braking. To avoid this, monitor your driving speed when downshifting.
Note:
- Observe the speed limit corresponding to each position of the automatic transmission selector lever.
- If, due to erroneous control, the engine develops critical revolutions, the engine protection system is activated and the fuel supply is interrupted. In this case, a slight jolt is felt, which is not a malfunction.

Set the automatic transmission selector lever to the desired position without error.

SNOW mode

If you press the SNOW mode switch when the automatic transmission selector lever is in position D or D3, the movement starts from second gear (the indicator on the instrument cluster lights up). This mode makes it easier to start moving on a slippery road.
If you press the switch again, the SNOW mode will be switched off (the indicator on the instrument cluster will go out).
