Connecting rods — selection (Honda Civic 5)

Each connecting rod falls into one of four tolerances (0 to +0.024 mm) in increments of 0.006 mm, depending on the size of its crankpin bore. It is then marked with numbers (1, 2, 3 or 4), indicating the size range.

You can find any combination of 1, 2, 3 or 4 in any engine.

Normal hole size:

• Engines D14A3, D14A4: 43.0 mm
• Engines D1524, D1525, D1526, D1527: 45.0 mm

Other engines: 48.00 mm

Please note: the number on the connecting rod does not indicate its position in the engine, but indicates the size of the connecting rod (for inserts of a certain size group).
