Check keyways and threads.
Beating
Measure the runout on all main journals to ensure the crankshaft is not bent.
The difference between the measurements on each journal must not exceed the operating values.
Total crankshaft runout
Engines B16A2, B16A4, B16A5, B16A6:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.020 mm
- Operating values: no more than 0.030 mm
Other engines:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.03 mm
- Operating values: no more than 0.04 mm

Ovality and taper
Measure the out-of-roundness at the center of each connecting rod and main journal in two mutually perpendicular directions. The difference in measurements on each journal should not exceed the operating values.
Cervical ovality
Engines B16A2, B16A4, B16A5, B16A6:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.0004 mm
- Operating values: no more than 0.006 mm
Other engines:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.0025 mm
- Operating values: 0.005 mm

Measure the taper along the generatrix of each crankpin and main journal.
The difference between the measurements on each journal should not exceed the operating values.
Neck cone
Engines B16A2, B16A4, B16A5, B16A6:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.005 mm
- Operating values: no more than 0.010 mm
Other engines:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.0025 mm
- Operating values: no more than 0.005 mm
