Check the keyways and threads.
Runout
Measure the runout on all main journals to ensure the crankshaft is not bent.
The difference between the measurements on each journal should not exceed the operational values.
Total crankshaft runout
Engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A5, V16A6:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.020mm
- Operational values: no more than 0.030 mm
Other engines:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.03mm
- Operational values: no more than 0.04 mm
Ovality and taper
Measure the ovality at the center of each crankpin and main journal in two mutually perpendicular directions. The difference in measurements on each journal should not exceed the operational values.
Neck ovality
Engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A5, V16A6:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.0004 mm
- Operational values: no more than 0.006 mm
Other engines:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.0025 mm
- Operational values: 0.005 mm
Measure the cone along the generatrix of each connecting rod and main journal.
The difference between the measurements on each journal should not exceed the operating values.
Neck cone
Engines V16A2, V16A4, V16A5, V16A6:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.005 mm
- Operational values: no more than 0.010 mm
Other engines:
- Nominal value: no more than 0.0025 mm
- Operational values: no more than 0.005 mm
