Installing the seal (Honda Civic 5)

The surface under the seal on the block should not be dry. Apply a light layer of oil to the crankshaft and the edges of the seal.

1. Insert the crankshaft oil seal into the right side cover.

Note: Insert the final shaft seal without distortion.

2. Using a feeler gauge, check that the gap is uniform around the entire circumference.

• Gap: 0.5 - 0.8 mm

Note: Follow the installation recommendations for the crankshaft oil seal on the oil pump side.
