2. In the absence of a stand, disassembly on the floor is possible. Be especially careful when working under these conditions.
3. If you decide to get a remanufactured engine, the following parts must be moved from engine to engine.
- generator and brackets
- exhaust emission control parts
- distributor, spark plugs and their wires
- thermostat and housing cover
- water pump
- carburetor or injection system
- intake and exhaust manifolds
- oil filter
- clutch and flywheel
Note: when dismantling these parts, pay attention to the features of removal. Note installation positions for gaskets, seals, spacers, pins, brackets, washers, bolts, and other small details.
4. If you received a short block, which consists of a block, crankshaft, piston group, then the cylinder head, oil pan and oil pump must be removed from the old engine.
