Short block - is a block with the crankshaft and piston group installed. The remaining parts for assembly, such as the camshaft, valve mechanism, cylinder head and external units can be installed after minimal service work.

Long Block - This is a short block plus oil pump, oil pan, cylinder head, camshaft cover, camshaft and valve train, drive belt and gears. All parts are installed in new bearings, have new seals and gaskets. Only manifolds and attachments need to be installed.
