1. Clean the cylinder head cover gasket and its groove thoroughly.
2. Insert cylinder head cover gasket A into the groove in cylinder head B.
3. Make sure the surfaces to be joined are clean and dry.
4. Apply a 3.0 mm wide bead of sealant P/N 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-K0334M or 08C70-X0331S to the mating surfaces of the timing chain housing.
Note: If 5 minutes or more have passed since applying liquid sealant, do not install components. Instead, remove the old layer of liquid sealant and apply a new layer.
5. Install the cylinder head cover A.
Note: Wait 30 minutes before adding oil to the engine. Do not run the engine for at least 3 oil hours after installing the head cover.
6. Check the condition of the cover washers B. Replace damaged or broken washers.
7. Tighten the bolts in two or three stages. In the last stage, tighten all the bolts sequentially to 12 N·m.

8. Install the ground wire A, wire harness bracket mounting bolt B and vent tube C.
9. Install the four front and four rear ignition coils.
10. Install the intake manifold.
