Removal
1. Remove the front wheels.
2. Remove the lower engine cover.
3. Remove the automatic drive belt tensioner.
4. Remove the cylinder head cover.
5. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose.

6. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
7. Support the engine with a jack and a wooden block placed under the oil pan.
8. Remove bolt A securing the air conditioner pipe, then remove the upper reaction rod B.

9. Remove ground cable A, then remove engine side mounting bracket B.
10. Remove the oil pump.
Examination
1. Remove the screws from the pump body, then separate the cover from the body.

2. Check the radial clearance between the inner and outer rotors (between the inner rotor A and the outer rotor B). If the axial clearance between the inner and outer rotors exceeds the limit, replace the oil pump assembly.
Radial clearance between inner and outer rotors:
- Standard (new): 0.02-0.16 mm.
- Working limit: 0.20 mm.
3. Check the axial clearance between rotors A and pump housing B. If the axial clearance between the rotor and housing exceeds the limit value, replace the oil pump assembly.

Clearance between rotor and housing:
- Standard (new): 0.02-0.07 mm.
- Working limit: 0.12 mm.

4. Check the axial clearance between the housing and the outer rotor (between rotor A and pump body B). If the radial clearance between the housing and the outer rotor exceeds the limit value, replace the oil pump assembly.
Radial clearance between outer rotor and housing:
- Standard (new): 0.100-0.175 mm.
- Working limit: 0.20 mm.

5. Check both rotors and the pump body for scratches or other damage. Replace parts if necessary.
6. Apply anaerobic sealant to the pump housing screws, then install the oil pump cover.
7. Make sure the oil pump rotates freely.
Installation
1. Check if the oil pump gasket is damaged. If the oil gasket is damaged, replace it.
2. Remove any remaining old liquid gasket from the mating surfaces of the oil pump, bolts and their holes.
3. Clean and dry the mating surfaces of the oil pump.
4. Apply an even layer of liquid sealant P/N 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-K0334M or 08C70-X0331S to the surface of the oil pump that is connected to the engine block.

5. Apply liquid sealant to the oil pump mating surfaces on the top of cylinder block A and main bearing cap housing B.
6. Apply liquid sealant P/N 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-
K0334M or 08C70-X0331S evenly onto the surface of the oil pump that meets the oil pan.
Note: If 5 minutes or more have passed since applying liquid sealant, do not install components. Instead, remove the old layer of liquid sealant and apply a new layer.

7. Install a new O-ring A onto the oil pump. Position the lip of the oil pump B onto the lip of the oil pan C, then position the pump onto the engine block D. Lightly screw in the mounting bolts E, then tighten the 8 mm bolts F. Tighten the 6 mm bolts G and the mounting bolts. Remove any excess liquid sealant from the mating surfaces of the oil pan and oil pump.
Note: When installing the oil pump, do not allow its bottom surface to slide on the mating surface of the oil pan.
Wait 30 minutes before adding oil to the engine.
Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the oil pump.

8. Install the side engine mount bracket A, then lightly tighten the new bolt and nut B and bolt C.
9. Install the body ground cable D.
10. Remove the air cleaner housing assembly.
11. Loosen transmission mounting bolt and nuts A.
12. Raise the lift to maximum height.
13. Remove the lower engine cover.
14. Loosen the lower reaction rod mounting bolt A.
