Withdrawal
1. Remove the front wheels.
2. Remove the engine bottom cover.
3. Remove the automatic drive belt tensioner.
4. Remove the cylinder head cover.
5. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation hose (PCV).
6. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
7. Support the engine with a jack and block of wood under the oil pan.
8. Remove A/C pipe mounting bolt A, then remove upper torque rod B.
9. Remove the connection cable from «weight» A, then remove the engine side bracket B.
10. Remove the oil pump.
Examination
1. Remove the screws from the pump housing, then separate the cover from the housing.
2. Check the radial clearance between the inner and outer rotors (between inner rotor A and outer rotor B). If the axial clearance between the inner and outer rotors exceeds the limit, replace the oil pump assembly.
Radial clearance between inner and outer rotors:
- Standard (new): 0.02-0.16 mm.
- Working limit: 0.20 mm.
3. Check the axial clearance between rotors A and pump housing B. If the axial clearance between rotor and housing is greater than the limit, replace the oil pump assembly.
Gap between rotor and housing:
- Standard (new): 0.02-0.07 mm.
- Working limit: 0.12mm.
4. Check the axial clearance between housing and outer rotor (between rotor A and pump casing B). If the radial clearance between housing and outer rotor is over the limit, replace the oil pump assembly.
Radial clearance between outer rotor and housing:
- Standard (new): 0.100—0.175 mm.
- Working limit: 0.20 mm.
5. Check both rotors and pump housing for scratches or other damage. Replace parts if necessary.
6. Lubricate the pump housing screws with an anaerobic sealant, then install the oil pump cover.
7. Make sure the oil pump rotates freely.
Installation
1. Check if the oil pump gasket is damaged. If the oil seal is damaged, replace it.
2. Remove the remains of the old liquid gasket from the mating surfaces of the oil pump, bolts and their holes.
3. Clean and dry the mating surfaces of the oil pump.
4. Apply an even coat of Liquid Sealant P/N 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-K0334M, or 08C70-X0331S to the engine block mating surface of the oil pump.
5. Apply liquid sealant to the oil pump mating surfaces on top of cylinder block A and main cap housing B.
6. Apply liquid sealant P/N 08C70-K0234M, 08C70-
K0334M or 08C70-X0331S in an even layer on the surface of the oil pump connected to the oil pan.
Note. If 5 minutes or more has elapsed after applying the liquid sealant, do not install the components. Instead, remove the old layer of liquid sealant and apply a new layer.
7. Install a new O-ring A on the oil pump. Fit the lip of oil pump B to the lip of oil pan C, then install the pump on the engine block D. Loosely screw in the set bolts E, then tighten the 8mm bolts F. Tighten the 6mm bolts G and the set bolts. Wipe excess liquid sealant from mating surfaces of oil pan and oil pump.
Note. When installing the oil pump, do not allow the bottom surface of the oil pump to slide along the surface to be connected to the oil pan.
Wait 30 minutes before adding oil to the engine.
Do not start the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the oil pump.
8. Install engine side mount bracket A, then lightly tighten new bolt and nut B and bolt C.
9. Install the connection cable with «weight» body D.
10. Remove the air cleaner housing assembly.
11. Loosen the bolt and nuts A of the transmission mounting A.
12. Raise the lift to its maximum height.
13. Remove the bottom engine cover.
14. Loosen the lower torque arm mounting bolt A.
15. Lower the machine on the lift.
16. Tighten the mounting bolts/nuts of the engine side support bracket.
18. Raise the lift to its maximum height.
19. Tighten the lower torque arm mounting bolt.
20. Install the engine bottom cover.
21. Lower the car on the lift.
22. Install the air cleaner housing assembly.
23. Install the upper torque rod A, then tighten the new upper torque rod mounting bolts in the numerical sequence.
24. Establish a bolt In fastenings of a tube of the conditioner.
25. Reinstall the crankshaft pulley.
26. Install the positive crankcase ventilation hose (PCV).
27. Install the cylinder head cover.
28. Install the automatic drive belt tensioner.
29. Remove the front wheels.
