Fluid Recommendations
When adding, only Honda power steering fluid may be used.
Honda claims that fluids formulated for use in other makes of vehicles are not compatible with the Honda steering system. Using any other fluid will cause seals to swell and leak.
Checking the tank level
The power steering fluid level should be checked every few weeks for signs of leaks or low levels. The fluid is not usually replaced. If it is necessary to drain the fluid during repairs, it can be reused if it is not contaminated by the cause of the failure or a dirty container.
The reservoir is located in front of or on the left or right side of the engine compartment, just behind the headlight area. Check the level when the engine is cold and the parking lot is level. The level is determined by the light and should be between the upper and lower marks. Do not overfill the reservoir.
