Note. This procedure checks for normal operation of the engine oil level sensor.
Perform the procedure on a flat surface.
Make sure the customer has not added oil before performing this procedure.
Check for oil leaks before performing this procedure.
Make sure the original oil level dipstick is installed.
Check for temporary DTCs or DTCs using the HDS diagnostic system before this procedure. If any temporary DTCs or DTCs are displayed, troubleshoot them first, then follow this procedure.
1. Start the engine. Keep the speed of the crankshaft 3.000 rpm (min-1) without load (in the neutral position of the manual gearbox) before turning on the radiator fan.
2. Turn the ignition key to position «OFF» and wait 5 minutes.
3. Check the engine oil level with the dipstick
- If the oil level is OK and the customer did not add oil after the oil level light came on, replace the oil level sensor, then go to step 4.
- If the oil level is not correct, adjust the oil level, then go to and recheck.
4. Start the engine. Keep the speed of the crankshaft 3.000 rpm (min-1) without load (in the neutral position of the manual gearbox) before turning on the radiator fan.
- 5. Check for temporary DTCs or DTCs using the HDS diagnostic system.
- If there are no DTCs, the engine oil level sensor is good.
- If any temporary DTCs or DTCs are output, proceed to troubleshooting according to the indicated DTCs.
