Inner hinge
1. Remove the retaining ring (B) from the inner joint (A).

2. Remove the boot clamp. To remove the clamp, follow these steps:
Caution: Do not damage the case.
(Welded clamp) Using wire cutters, cut the clamp.

(Double Loop Clamp) Fold up the protruding part of the clamp (C) and press the lock (A).

3. Apply marks (C) to the rollers (B) of the joint and the outer race of the inner joint (A). Wrap the outer race with a rag (D) and remove it.
Note: Apply marks so that the position of the rollers relative to the outer race of the joint can be clearly identified.
Caution: When removing the sleeve, be careful not to drop the hinge rollers.

4. Remove the retaining ring (A).
5. Place marks (D) on the rollers (B) and the inner race of the joint (C). Then remove the rollers.

6. Apply marks (F) to the inner race of the joint and the drive shaft (E).
7. Wind the protective tape (D) onto the splines of the drive shaft (A). Remove the boot (B) and the dynamic damper (C).

External hinge
1. Using a slotted screwdriver, bend back the clamp tabs (A) and remove the clamp (B).

2. Remove the clamp (A) of the outer joint boot.

3. Remove grease from the drive shaft (A) and outer joint (B).

4. Using a ruler (C), make marks (D) as shown in the figure.
5. Wrap the drive shaft (A) with a rag (B) and clamp it in a vice (C).

6. Using the special tool, remove the outer joint (D) from the drive shaft.
7. Remove the retaining ring (B) from the drive shaft (A).

8. Wind the protective tape (A) around the splines of the drive shaft.

9. Remove the outer hinge cover (B).
