1. Check the inner and outer boots on the drive shaft for cracks, damage, grease leakage, and loose boot clips. If any damage is found, replace the boots and boot clips.
2. Rotate the drive shaft by hand and check that there is no excessive play in the splines and pivot.
3. Check that the drive shaft is not twisted or cracked; otherwise, replace it.
