2. Disconnect the connector (A).
Driver's door.
Passenger doors.
3. Check the operation of the electric drive by applying battery voltage to the terminals as shown in the tables.
Table. Checking the central locking remote control unit (models produced before 9/2003.).
| Conclusion | Wire color | Verification conditions | In good condition | Possible cause/location of malfunction |
| 1 | IN | Constantly | Conductivity between terminal "1" and ground | - Poor ground contact (G502) - Broken wire |
| 2 | BI/O | Constantly | Conductivity between terminal "2" and terminal "K2" of the mounting block in the passenger compartment | - Multiplex control unit - Wire break |
| 3 | Y | Ignition switch in the "ON" position (II) | At terminal "3" the battery voltage | - Fuse No.10 (7.5 A) (mounting block in the cabin) - Wire break |
| 5 | W/R | Constantly | At terminal "5" the battery voltage | - Fuse No.9 (10 A) (mounting block in the underhood space) - Wire break |
