Checking the central locking remote control unit



1. Remove the lower instrument panel trim.

2. Remove the radio.

3. Disconnect the connector (B) from the central locking system remote control unit (A).

4. Check the central locking remote control unit according to the tables "Checking the central locking remote control unit".

If a fault is detected, check the components listed in the table section "Possible cause/location of malfunction".

If the components are OK but the system does not work, replace the remote central locking system unit.

Location of central locking components (sedan). 1 - rear left door limit switch, 2 - rear left door lock electric drive, 3 - front passenger door lock electric drive, 4 - central lock remote control unit, 5 - button "LOCK/UNLOCK", 6 - transmitter, 7 - driver's door limit switch, 8 - key in ignition switch, 9 - driver's door lock electric drive and driver's door lock switch, 10 - rear right door lock electric drive, 11 - rear right door limit switch, 12 - front passenger door limit switch, 13 - limit switch in trunk lid lock.
