Note: Check fuse #11 (30A) (mounting block in the engine compartment) and No.14 (10 A) (mounting block in the cabin).
1. Wrap the end of the voltmeter probe (A) with foil (B).

2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
3. Turn on the rear window defroster.
4. Connect the voltmeter as shown in the figure, make sure the voltmeter shows the battery voltage.

If there is no voltage or it differs significantly from the battery voltage, check the following components:
- rear window defroster relay;
- antenna coil;
- rear window defroster switch;
- wiring.
If the voltmeter shows battery voltage but the system does not operate, continue testing.
5. Connect the negative probe of the voltmeter to the location shown in the figure, and connect the positive probe to the middle of each wire in turn. Make sure that the voltmeter shows approximately 6 V.
If the voltage matches the description, the system is OK.
If the resistance is not as described, repair the heater wires.
If the voltage is significantly greater than 6 V, then the wire is damaged between the middle and the "-" side.
If the voltage is significantly less than 6 V, then the wire is damaged between the middle and the "+" side.
