Examination
1. To check, it is necessary to slightly raise the engine, unloading the supports.
2. Jack up the car and put it on stands. Place a jack under the engine sump (in order to distribute the load, lay a wooden block between the head of the jack and the pallet). Raise the jack by slightly raising the engine and unloading the supports.
Attention! Never carry out any work under the vehicle, which is held in a raised position with just a jack!
3. Check the support pads for cracks, signs of rubber hardening, and separation from the metal base. Sometimes pillows start to break right in the middle.
4. Estimate the amount of play between the support components and the power unit/vehicle frame (use a pry bar or a large screwdriver as a lever). If play is detected, lower the unit and tighten the support fasteners.
5. Pillows must be treated with a special protective compound to avoid rubber destruction.
Replacement
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Jack up the car and place it on jack stands. Support the engine (see paragraph 2 above).
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
2. Release fasteners, raise the engine with a jack and remove the support, separating it from the frame bracket and the engine.
3a. Replace pillow. Make sure the assembly fits correctly in the bracket Screw in the fasteners and tighten them firmly (see accompanying illustrations): upper engine mount.
3b. Right side transmission support.
3c. Right front gearbox mount.
3d. Rear engine mount.
3e. Right front support (on the rear bulkhead of the engine compartment).
