Withdrawal
1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature, then drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter (see chapter Current service).
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
3. Jack up the car and put it on stands. Remove the crankcase protection.
4. Remove a reception pipe of system of release of the fulfilled gases (see chapter Power and exhaust systems).
5. Turn out bolts of fastening of the pallet to the block of the engine (see accompanying illustration).
6. After tapping the pan around the perimeter with a soft-faced hammer to destroy the sealant layer, separate it from the block (in no case do not try to pry the pallet under the mating surface).
7. Scrape off all traces of sealant and old gasket material from the mating surfaces of the sump and block. Remove the end seal inserts from the pallet or block. Thoroughly wipe the mating surfaces with a rag soaked in acetone. Clean and dry the threaded holes in the block.
Installation
1. Wash the sump with solvent and dry it thoroughly. Make sure that there are no deformations of the pallet mounting flange, if necessary, lay the pallet with a flange on a flat wooden block and straighten it.
2. Apply a 3mm pad of RTV Sealant to the gasket surface of the pan flange. Make sure the sealant is applied to the inside of the bolt holes.
3. Gently press the tray against the unit.
4. Screw in the bolts and in several stages (1/4 turn per approach) tighten them to the required torque (see Specifications). Start tightening from the bolt closest to the center and spiral outwards. Remember that overtightening fasteners is fraught with the development of leaks.
5. Fill with engine oil (see chapter Current service), start the engine and check the sump for leaks.
