Inspection/Adjustment
1. Start the engine. Maintain rpm at 3000 without engine load (gearbox in neutral, automatic transmission selector in position [P] or [N]) until the electric fan turns on, then set the engine to idle,
2. Make sure the drive cable moves smoothly without snagging. Correct the problem if necessary.
3. Check the cable deflection near the damper drive sector. The cable deflection should be 10-12 mm.
4. If the deviation is outside the specified limits, loosen the locknut by rotating the adjusting nut until the normal deviation is achieved, then tighten the locknut.
5. If the cable is correctly adjusted, make sure that the throttle opens completely when you press the gas pedal all the way and returns to the idle position when you release the pedal.
Installation
1. Open the damper completely, install the cable on the damper drive sector, then secure the cable housing in the holder.
2. Start the engine. Maintain rpm at 3000 without engine load (gearbox in neutral, automatic transmission selector in position [P] or [N]) until the radiator fan turns on, then leave the engine idling.
3. While holding the cable sheath, remove all of its slack.
4. Place the locknut on the cable holder. Adjust the adjusting nut so that the slack is = 0.
5. Remove the cable sheath from the holder, reinstall the adjusting nut, then tighten the locknut.
