Checking/adjusting



1. Start the engine. Maintain the engine speed at 3000 rpm (rpm) with no load (in Park or Neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.

Check that the throttle cable moves smoothly without binding or sticking. Remove any obstructions if necessary.

4. If the deflection is outside the permissible limits, loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting nut until the required deflection is achieved, then tighten the lock nut.

5. After adjusting the cable, make sure that the throttle valve opens fully when you press the accelerator pedal to the floor. Also make sure that the throttle valve returns to the idle position when you release the accelerator pedal.
