Checking/adjusting
1. Start the engine. Maintain the engine speed at 3000 rpm (rpm) with no load (in Park or Neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
Check that the throttle cable moves smoothly without binding or sticking. Remove any obstructions if necessary.
3. Check the free play of the cable on the throttle rod. The cable deflection should be 10-12 mm.
4. If the deflection is outside the permissible limits, loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting nut until the required deflection is achieved, then tighten the lock nut.
5. After adjusting the cable, make sure that the throttle valve opens fully when you press the accelerator pedal to the floor. Also make sure that the throttle valve returns to the idle position when you release the accelerator pedal.
Installation
1. Open the throttle valve fully, then insert the throttle cable into the rod and secure the cable boot to the bracket.
2. Start the engine. Maintain the speed at 3000 rpm without load (in Park or Neutral) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
3. Hold the cable sheath to remove any slack in the cable.
4. Loosen the lock nut on the cable bracket. Adjust the adjusting nut so that the free play is 0 mm.
5. Slide the cable housing off the throttle bracket, secure the adjusting nut and tighten the lock nut.
