Examination
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Remove the front and/or rear wheels.
3. Screw the wheel nuts back on and tighten to 108 Nm.
4. Check the end play of the bearing, which is measured on the hub flange. Rear bearing end play is measured at the center of the hub cap.
5. Permissible values of axial play for the front and rear wheels are 0.00-0.05 mm. If the measured values are greater than specified, replace the bearings.
Withdrawal
To remove the bearing from the hub, you will need a press and a split thrust plate.
1. Remove a rotary fist.
2. On 4-cylinder Odysseys, remove the hub-to-knuckle bolts and remove the hub.
3. Press the bearing inner race off the hub.
4. On CR-V and Odyssey V6 models, remove the large circlip.
5. Press the wheel bearing out of the knuckle (or from hub).
7. Check the condition of the wheel studs. Replace damaged pins.
Installation
8. Press the bearing into the knuckle Install the circlip.
9. Press the hub into the bearing.
10. On 4-cylinder Odyssey, install the hub in the steering knuckle and tighten the bolts to 44 Nm.
11. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order. Tighten the fasteners to the specified torque.
