1. Slightly loosen the rear wheel nuts. Raise the car and secure it on jacks.
2. Release the parking brake. Remove rear wheels.
3. Remove the rear bearing hub cap, cotter pin and its holder.
4. Remove the spindle nut, then slide the hub and drum off the spindle.
5. Pull the outer races of the inner bearing out of the hub. Tap in a criss-cross pattern to avoid sticking the bearing ring.
6. Completely clean the bearing seat before proceeding with the next step.
7. Using a bearing drift, drive the bearing inner race into the hub.
8. Turn the hub over and drive the outer bearing race in the same way.
9. Check that the bearing races are properly seated.
10. When assembling new bearings, lubricate them with wheel bearing grease.
11. Lubricate the inside of the hub with a moderate amount of grease.
12. Before installation, apply a small amount of lubricant to the spindle and to the lip of the inner seal.
13. Place the inner bearings in the hub.
14. Apply lubricant to the hub seal and put it in place. Tap carefully in a criss-cross pattern to avoid twisting the seal.
15. Slide the hub and drum onto the spindle, then insert the outer bearing, hub, washer, and spindle nut.
16. Follow the requirements of the adjustment procedure.
