Control
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the distributor cap.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the vacuum regulator diaphragm. Connect the vacuum pump to the diaphragm nipple (if there are two hoses, then connect to the outer branch pipe).
4. Turn the breaker disk right and left and make sure it moves freely.
5. Gradually apply vacuum to the diaphragm. Make sure the breaker disk rotates smoothly.
- a) if the disk jams, check to see if it is bent?
- b) if the vacuum pump pressure gauge shows a decrease in vacuum, the diaphragm is defective. Replace it.
Replacement
6. Remove the retaining ring from the vacuum regulator diaphragm.

7. Loosen the diaphragm mounting screws.

8. Disconnect the diaphragm lever, pull the diaphragm out of the distributor.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
