1. Check the idle speed. and if they are out of specification, adjust (see ch. Engine management system).
2. Close the SCS contacts of the diagnostic connector (see ch. Engine management system).
3. Attach a strobe light to the #1 cylinder high voltage cable.
4. Point the stroboscope at the crankshaft pulley and at idle speed. make sure the ignition timing mark (red) combined with the synchronization indicator.
- Ignition advance angle: 12°±2°from TDC (at speed x.x.) (AKP selector lever in N or P position)
5. If the advance angle is not correct, replace the PGM-Fi control unit and recheck.
6. Remove the connector box of the diagnostic connector.
