Caution: Take precautions when handling antifreeze.
1. The temperature measurement system consists of a sensor mounted on the engine and a pointer mounted on the dashboard. On some models, the sensor is installed in the thermostat housing (see fig. 3.10), on other models, the sensor is installed in the block immediately after the thermostat. The temperature sensor has only one contact. On some models, several temperature sensors are installed, but only one of them is used to identify the temperature.
Attention: these models are equipped with an electric fan, keep your hands away from the fan - it can turn on at any time.
2. If the indicator has information about engine overheating, check the fluid level in the system and the reliability of the contacts on the indicator and sensor, and the integrity of all fuses.
3. Check the electrical circuit: ground the sensor wire, if the pointer shows the full range of the scale, the circuit is in order.
4. When replacing the sensor, lubricate the threads with sealant. Do not replace the sensor on a hot engine. Drain some coolant before replacing.
