Note. To carry out this procedure, you will need a special tool: an oil filter wrench (07HAA-PJ70100).
1. Remove the service hatch.
2. Remove the old oil filter with an oil filter wrench.
3. Check the filter to make sure the rubber seal is not stuck to the oil filter seat surface on the engine.
4. Check thread A and rubber o-ring B of the new filter. Clean the seat on the oil pan and apply a thin layer of new oil to the filter rubber o-ring. Use only oil filters with an integrated oil bypass system.
5. Screw in the oil filter by hand.
6. After the rubber o-ring is in place, tighten the oil filter clockwise with an oil filter wrench.
Tighten 3/4 turn clockwise.
Tightening torque: 12 Nm.
7. If 4 marks (numbers 1 to 4 or to ) applied to the outer surface of the filter, use the following procedure to tighten the filter.
Screw on the filter by hand until its rubber sealing ring is slightly pressed against the surface of the oil pan of the cylinders and note which digital mark is on the bottom.
Tighten the filter by turning it clockwise 3 notches from the one you marked. For example, if the mark is at the bottom when the rubber seal is seated, tighten the filter until the mark is at the bottom.
8. After installing the oil filter, fill the engine with engine oil to the correct level, run the engine for more than 3 minutes, then check for oil leaks.
