Disassembly and assembly

1. Remove the parts in the order they are numbered in the figure "Disassembling and assembling the oil pump".

2. Installation of parts during assembly is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Examination

1. Using a feeler gauge, measure the radial clearance between the lugs of the driving and driven rotors.

Nominal clearance:
  • K20A — 0.02 -0.15 mm
  • except K20A - 0.06-0.18 mm

Maximum gap - 0.20 mm

Maximum gap - 0.20 mm

2. Using a feeler gauge, measure the radial clearance between the driven rotor and the pump casing.

Nominal clearance:
  • K20A - 0.15-0.21 mm
  • except K20A - 0.10 - 0.18 mm

Maximum clearance:
  • K20A - 0.23 mm
  • except K20A - 0.20 mm

except K20A - 0.20 mm

3. Using a precision ruler and feeler gauge, measure the end clearance between the rotors and the surface of the oil pump housing.

Nominal clearance - 0.03 - 0.07 mm

Maximum gap - 0.12 mm

Maximum gap - 0.12 mm

If any of the gaps are greater than the maximum value, replace the rotor. If necessary, replace the pump housing.

Installation (D15B, D17A)

1. Clean the contact surfaces of the oil pump.

2. Install the oil pump (A).

a) Apply a bead of sealant to the oil pump mating surface and around the bolt holes.

Note: The parts must be installed within the time specified in the sealant application instructions. Otherwise, the sealant must be removed and reapplied.

b) Apply a coat of grease to the lip of the front crankshaft oil seal and a coat of engine oil to the O-ring (B) and install them.

c) Install the guides (C), then install the oil pump.

d) Remove excess grease and engine oil from the crankshaft and balance shafts.

d) Install the oil receiver (D) with a new gasket (E).
