Coolant pump (Honda Fit 1)

Examination

1. Remove the drive belt of the attachments.

2. Remove the coolant pump pulley and idler roller.



3. Turn the coolant pump counterclockwise. Make sure it rotates freely. If the pump rotates with difficulty, replace it.

Note: Minor leaks from the drain holes are not a malfunction.

4. Install the coolant pump pulley and idler pulley.

5. Install the accessory drive belt.

Removal and installation

1. Drain the coolant.

2. Remove the accessory drive belt.

3. Remove the coolant pump pulley and idler roller.

4. Remove the five bolts and coolant pump.



5. Check and clean the O-ring groove and the contact surface with the cylinder block.



6. Install the coolant pump with a new O-ring in the reverse order of removal.

7. Fill with coolant and make sure there is no air in the cooling system.
