Replacement
Attention! The vehicles covered in this manual are equipped with airbags (SRS). When performing any work near the shock sensors, steering column or instrument panel, turn off the SRS (see wiring diagrams at the end of the Chapter Onboard electrical equipment).
1. Remove the center console (see chapter Body).
2. Move the selector lever to position "N" and remove the mounting clip from the drive cable adjuster (see accompanying illustration).
3. Jack up the car and put it on stands. Loosen the shift cable bracket (see accompanying illustration).
4. Disconnect the cable holder from the floor panel, then release the cable from the mounting bracket (see accompanying illustration).
5. Remove the cable cover (see accompanying illustration).
6. Give a fixing nut and remove the lever from a control rod. Take care not to excessively bend the cable when removing and installing it.
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Don't forget to adjust the cable (see below).
Adjustment
1. Remove the center console (see chapter Body).
2. Move the selector lever to position "N", then release the retaining clip on the cable adjuster assembly (see illustration first illustration).
3. There are two holes in the end of the rope. The holes are 90°angled to allow cable adjustment in 1/4 turn increments. Make sure that the hole in the regulator is clearly aligned with the mating hole in the tip (see accompanying illustration).
4. If you cannot achieve the desired hole alignment, loosen the cable jam nut and make any necessary adjustments. Re-tighten the locknut firmly.
5. Install the mounting clip on the regulator. If the latch is jammed during installation, make sure that the cable is adjusted correctly.
6. Turn out fixing screws and correct position of the indicator panel of assembly of switching achieving alignment of its labels.
7. Screw in the fixing screws and tighten them firmly.
8. Make sure that the white mark at the base of the selector lever is aligned with the mark "N" on the display panel (see accompanying illustration). If the marks are not clearly aligned, correct the position of the panel.
9. Start the engine and check up serviceability of switching of the selector lever in all possible provisions. If you cannot select any of the driving modes, refer to section 2.
