Attention! The vehicles covered in this manual are equipped with airbags (SRS). When performing any work near the shock sensors, steering column or instrument panel, turn off the SRS (see wiring diagrams at the end of the Chapter Onboard electrical equipment).
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
Rear console section
1. Pry off, remove the decorative cover and unscrew the front screws securing the rear section of the console (see accompanying illustration).
2a. Remove the mounting screws located on both sides of the rear section of the console (see accompanying illustrations).
2b. On some models, it is easier to slide the front section forward to access the screws securing the rear section of the console.
3. Pull up the parking brake lever. Remove the rear section of the console by lifting it up and back.
Front console section
1. Remove the handle from the shift lever (see chapter Gear box).
2a. Give screws of fastening of forward section of the console (see accompanying illustrations).
2b. … as well as along the leading edge.
3. Loosen the fasteners, pull the rear edge of the section up and back and remove it through the shift lever (See accompanying illustration). Disconnect the electrical wiring and remove the console from the vehicle.
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
