Attention! Remember that brake fluid is a chemically aggressive substance and requires special care in handling. Avoid contact of brake fluid with eyes, exposed skin, and painted vehicle surfaces. In addition to toxicity, brake fluid is also highly hygroscopic (those. ability to absorb moisture from the air). Excessive dampening of the brake fluid leads to a dangerous reduction in the efficiency of the system. Use only fresh brake fluid, do not leave it for a long time in a loosely closed container.
1. Brake fluid must be changed regularly and in strict accordance with the vehicle maintenance schedule (see Schedule of ongoing maintenance). Prepare enough clean rags or paper towels in advance to catch spilled liquid. In order to protect the adjacent painted body panels, cover the GTZ with rags.
2. Prepare replacement brake fluid of the required grade (see Specifications at the beginning of the chapter).
3. Remove the cap from the GTZ reservoir.
4. With a hand pump, using a syringe or a rubber bulb, pump out the liquid present in the cylinder.
5. Fill in the reservoir with fresh brake fluid, bringing its level to the lower cut of the filler neck.
6. Watching the fluid level in the reservoir, bleed all four brakes in turn (see chapter Brake system), seeking the beginning of the exit from the valves of their pumping of fresh liquid.
7. Check the liquid level in the GTZ reservoir again, if necessary, make the appropriate adjustments. The brake pedal must be depressed with firm resistance - the feeling of softness is unacceptable.
Attention! In no case do not start operating the car without being absolutely sure that the brakes are working properly!
