Lighting and signaling devices — testing (Honda Civic 8)

Check the serviceability and functioning of the external lighting and signaling devices at least once a month. A burnt-out headlight bulb can cause an emergency situation on the road, since visibility from the car will deteriorate. If the external lighting devices are faulty, other road users may not notice the car or will not be able to receive a timely warning about the start of braking or a maneuver by the car.

Check the serviceability of outdoor lighting and signaling devices in the following sequence.

Headlights (low and high beam).

Front side lights..

Rear side lights.

Brake lights.

Direction indicator lights.

Side turn signal repeaters.

Reversing lights.

Hazard warning lights.

Registration plate illumination lights.

Upper brake light.

Front fog lights (for some vehicle versions).

Rear fog light.

If you find a burnt-out lamp, replace it with a working one immediately.
