

Check that the steering column ball bearing A and the steering shaft pivot bearings move normally and do not have excessive play. If any bearing has excessive play, replace the steering column assembly.
Make sure that the lower shaft C moves freely in both directions. If the lower sliding shaft is removed, insert it into the upper shaft so that the stamped marks or painted marks D match. If it is difficult to move, replace the steering column assembly.
Check whether the sliding capsules E are deformed or broken. If deformed or broken, replace the steering column unit.
Check how the tilt mechanism and telescopic design of the steering wheel work.
Check whether the shock absorber plates F are deformed or broken. If deformed or broken, replace the steering column unit.
