1. Set the front wheels to the straight-ahead position.
2. Check the steering wheel play when turning left and right before the wheels start turning.
If the play is within acceptable limits, the steering gear and steering rods are in good condition.
If the play exceeds the permissible values, adjust the rack guide. If after adjusting the guide the play still exceeds the norm, check the condition of the steering rods and gearbox.
Steering wheel rim play: 0-10 mm.
