Beating
1. Raise the rear of the vehicle and place safety stands in appropriate places.
2. Remove the rear wheel.
3. Remove the brake pads.
4. Make sure that the brake disc surface is free of cracks and other damage. Wipe the brake disc surface and remove all traces of dirt.
5. Install suitable flat washers A and wheel nuts B, tightening the nuts to the recommended torque to securely fasten the brake disc to the hub.

6. Install a dial indicator to measure the axial runout of the brake disc as shown in the figure. Measure at a distance of 10 mm from the outer edge of the brake disc.

- Working range limit: 0.10 mm.
7. If the axial runout of the brake disc is outside the working range, regrind the end of the disc/drum on a special lathe without removing the brake disc from the car. Special lathes "Kwik-Lathe" and "Front Brake Disc Lathe", manufactured by Kwik-way Manufacturing Co. and Snap-on Tools Co., respectively, are well suited for this purpose.
- Maximum turning limit: 7.0 mm.
Note: If the thickness of the brake disc does not allow turning, then the brake disc should be replaced.
A new disc must be turned if its axial runout exceeds 0.10 mm.
Thickness and parallelism
1. Raise the rear of the vehicle and place safety stands in appropriate places.
2. Remove the rear wheels.
3. Remove the brake pads.
4. Using a micrometer, measure the thickness of the brake disc at eight points, approximately 45° and 10 mm from the outer edge of the brake disc. Replace the brake disc if the smallest value is less than the minimum allowable limit.

- Standard: 9.0 mm.
- Maximum turning limit: 6.0 mm.
- Parallelism of brake disc ends: 0.015 mm maximum.
Note: This is the maximum allowable difference between thickness measurements.

If the non-parallelism of the brake disc ends exceeds the permissible limit, then turn the ends of the disc on a special lathe without removing the brake disc from the car. Special lathes "Kwik-Lathe" and "Front Brake Disc Lathe", manufactured by Kwik-way Manufacturing Co. and Snap-on Tools Co., respectively, are well suited for this purpose.
Note: If the thickness of the brake disc does not allow turning, then the brake disc should be replaced.
