Adjustment (sedan)
1. Set the selector to the "N" position.
2. Remove the center console (see chapter "Body").
3. Loosen the nut and disconnect the gearbox control cable.

4. Turn the protruding part of the holder (A) 90° as shown in the figure and remove the cable (C) from the bracket (B).
Note: When removing the cable, do not remove the guide bushing.

5. Set the selector cable to the "N" position as shown in the figure.

6. Turn on the ignition and make sure that the "N" indicator on the instrument cluster is lit.
7. Turn off the ignition.
8. Install the pin (A) with a diameter of 6 mm into the holes (B) of the selector as shown in the figure to fix the position of the selector.

9. Install the cable into the bracket (C) and turn the protruding part (A) of the cable holder (A) 90° as shown in the figure. When installing the cable, install the end of the cable (D) onto the shaft (E) so that the hole in the cable matches the square surface of the shaft.

10. Make sure the cable is installed securely.
11. Tighten the automatic transmission control cable mounting nut.
12. Remove the pin.
13. Move the selector to each position and check that the selector position indicator readings correspond to the selector position.
14. Start the engine and, by moving the selector to each position, make sure that the gearbox control cable is adjusted correctly.
15. Install the center console (see chapter "Body").
Adjustment (hatchback)
1. Remove the ashtray and center console (see chapter "Body").
2. Remove the selector trim (see chapter "Body").
3. Move the selector to the "R" position.
4. Slide the adjustment cap (A) of the cable end (D) as shown in the figure. Using pliers, remove the cable retainer (B).

5. Move the selector lever to the "N" position and remove the cable (C) from the cable end (D).
6. Turn the protruding part (C) of the holder (A) 90° as shown in the figure and remove the cable from the bracket (D).
Note: When removing the cable, do not remove the guide bushing (B).

7. Set the cable to the "R" position, referring to the figure.

8. Turn on the ignition and make sure that the selector position indicator "R" lights up.
9. Turn off the ignition.
10. Set the selector to the "N" position.
11. Install the end of the cable (A) into the end (B) of the cable

12. Install the pin (A) with a diameter of 6 mm into the hole of the selector as shown in the figure to fix the position of the selector.

13. Install the new retainer (A) and slide the adjustment cover (B) as shown in the figure.

14. Remove the pin installed to fix the selector position.
15. Move the selector to each position and check that the selector position indicator readings correspond to the selector position.
16. Start the engine and, by moving the selector to each position, make sure that the gearbox control cable is adjusted correctly.
17. Install the selector trim (see chapter "Body").
18. Install the center console and ashtray (see chapter "Body").
Replacement (sedan)
1. Set the selector to the "N" position.
2. Remove the center console (see chapter "Body").
3. Loosen the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable (A).

4. Turn the protruding part of the holder (A) 90° as shown in the figure and remove the cable (C) from the bracket (B).

5. (2WD models) Loosen the nut, remove the bracket (A) and seal (B).

6. (4WD models) Loosen the bolt and nut, remove the bracket (A) and seal (B).

7. Remove the gearbox control cable.
(2WD models)
a) Remove the protective cover (A) of the gearbox control cable and unscrew the cable bracket mounting bolts (B).
b) Disconnect the cable lever (D) from the transmission control shaft (C) and remove the cable (E).

(4WD models)
a) Remove the protective cover (A) of the gearbox control cable and unscrew the cable bracket mounting bolts (B).
b) Remove the cotter pin (C) and pull out the pin (D). Disconnect the cable (F) from the gearshift lever (E) and remove the cable.

8. Replace the transmission control cable with a new one and install it.
Note: Do not bend the transmission control cable excessively.
9. Connect the transmission control cable to the transmission.
(2WD models)
a) Connect the transmission control cable lever to the shaft.
b) Install the cable bracket and protective cover.
(4WD models)
a) Connect the transmission control cable to the transmission control lever. Install the pin and cotter pin.
b) Install the cable bracket and protective cover.
10. Install the seal and cable bracket.
11. Turn on the ignition and make sure that the selector position indicator "N" lights up.
Adjust the cable if necessary.
Replacement (hatchback)
1. Jack up the car and place it on stands.
2. Remove the ashtray and center console (see chapter "Body").
3. Remove the selector trim (see chapter "Body").
4. Move the selector to the "R" position.
5. Slide the adjustment cap (A) of the cable end (D) as shown in the figure. Using pliers, remove the cable retainer (B).

6. Move the selector to the "N" position and remove the cable (C) from the cable end (D).
7. Turn the protruding part (C) of the holder (A) 90° as shown in the figure and remove the cable from the bracket (D).
Note: When removing the cable, do not remove the guide bushing (B).

8. (2WD models) Loosen the nut, remove the bracket (A) and seal (B).

9. (4WD models) Loosen the bolt and nut, remove the bracket (A) and seal (B).

10. Remove the gearbox control cable.
(2WD models)
a) Remove the protective cover (A) of the gearbox control cable and unscrew the bolts securing the cable bracket (B).
b) Disconnect the cable lever (D) from the transmission control shaft (C) and remove the cable (E).

(4WD models)
a) Remove the protective cover (A) of the gearbox control cable and unscrew the bolts (B) securing the cable bracket.
b) Remove the cotter pin (C) and pull out the pin (D). Disconnect the cable (F) from the gearshift lever (E) and remove the cable.

11. Replace the transmission control cable with a new one and install it. Note: Do not bend the transmission control cable too much.
12. Connect the transmission control cable to the transmission.
(2WD models)
a) Connect the transmission control cable lever to the shaft.
b) Install the cable bracket and protective cover.
(4WD models)
a) Connect the transmission control cable to the transmission control lever. Install the pin and cotter pin.
b) Install the cable bracket and protective cover.
13. Install the seal and cable bracket.
14. Turn on the ignition and make sure that the selector position indicator "R" lights up.
Adjust the cable if necessary.
