2. Disconnect the throttle control cable from the throttle control lever.
3. Bend down the locking clips of the fixing plate and unscrew the two 6mm bolts securing to the bracket.
4. Install and tack the new fixing plate.
5. Adjust the position of the bracket. To do this, measure the distance between the bracket on the side of the cable casing and the edge of the throttle control lever on the side of the bracket. Measure the distance between the same points when the cable passes through the bracket and arm.
6. Tighten the two 6mm bolts when the measured distance is 83.5mm for 1984-89 Accord models and 157mm for Prelude models. Bolt tightening torque - 12 Nm.
When tightening the bolts, make sure that the control lever is not attracted to the bracket.
7. Bend the retaining clips to the bolt heads, connect the throttle control cable and wire to the negative battery terminal.
