Removal
1. On some models, it will be necessary to remove the air filter assembly.
2. Disconnect the ground cable, spark plug wires (if necessary), and throttle cable (if necessary) from the rocker arm cover.
3. Remove the PCV hose from the rocker arm cover.
4. Remove the nuts securing the rocker arm cover to the cylinder head, washers, bushings and rocker arm cover.
If the lid is difficult to remove, knock it off with a plastic hammer; never use a metal hammer or lever.
5. Clean the gasket and check it for integrity and deformation.
To install:
6. If the gasket is in good condition, it can be reused. Place it in the flange cover, make sure it is not deformed.
7. Install the cover and gasket on the cylinder head. Install the insulators.
8. Install the ground wire, then install the nuts securing the rocker cover to the cylinder head, tightening them to 10 Nm.
9. Install the air filter, connect the spark plug wires or other components that were removed.
