Removal
1. Loosen the rear wheel nuts, place the car on stands. Remove the wheels.
2. Place a jack under the axle housing.
3. Disconnect the propeller shaft from the final drive (see Section 4), move it to the side and secure it.
4. Disconnect the parking brake control cable (see Chapter 9).
5. Disconnect the brake hoses. Plug the hoses to prevent excessive leakage of brake fluid.
6. Disconnect the bridge housing breather hose.
7. Disconnect the right end of the Panhard rod (see Chapter 10) from the bridge housing.
8. Loosen the upper and lower control arms fasteners, but do not disconnect them (see Chapter 10).
9. Remove the suspension springs (see Chapter 10).
10. Remove the lever bolts. Roll the axle out from under the car.
Installation
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
