Removal
1. Loosen the rear wheel nuts, lift the car onto stands, and remove the wheels.
2. Drain the oil from the differential housing (see Chapter 1).
3. Mark the relative positions of the cardan joint flanges and the main gear pinion flange, disconnect the cardan shaft (see Section 4), move it to the side and secure it.
4. Remove both axle shafts (see Section 12).
5. Remove the differential cup mounting bolts.
6. Loosen the cup seat by lightly tapping with a soft-faced hammer. Remove the differential from the axle housing.
7. Further repairs must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Installation
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Tighten the bolts to the force specified in the specification. Fill with oil (see Chapter 1).
