Withdrawal
1. Remove the cardan shaft (see Section 4).
2. Remove the middle pipe (or viscous coupling) from the front pipe flange.
3. Mark the relative position of the parts. Note: To prevent the pipe from rotating when unscrewing, use a pry bar. inserted between two bolts.
4. Hold the front shaft support and lightly tap the end of the CV joint with a soft-faced hammer to knock the support down. If the shaft does not come out, use a puller.
5. Removing the rear support is carried out similarly to the front.
Installation
6. Install the support, flange and flange nut on the splined shaft of the CV joint.
7. Tighten the flange nut to the starting torque specified for seating the support in place.
8. Remove the flange nut and flange.
9. Align the marks on the flange and pipe, install the flange nut and tighten to final torque (see specification). Lock the nut.
10. Install the rear support on the middle tube, repeat steps 6-9.
11. Connect the middle and front pipes, tighten the bolts to specification.
12. Install the cardan shaft in place (see Section 4).
