Removal
1. Remove the driveshaft (see Section 4).
2. Remove the middle pipe (or viscous coupling) from the front pipe flange.
3. Mark the relative positions of the parts. Note: To prevent the pipe from rotating when unscrewing, use a pry bar inserted between the two bolts.
4. Hold the front shaft support and lightly tap the end of the CV joint with a soft-faced hammer to knock off the support. If the shaft does not come out, use a puller.
5. Removal of the rear support is carried out in the same way as the front one.
Installation
6. Install the support, flange and flange nut onto the splined CV joint shaft.
7. Tighten the flange nut to the initial torque specified in the specification to seat the support in place.
8. Remove the flange nut and flange.
9. Align the marks on the flange and pipe, install the flange nut and tighten it to final torque (see specification). Lock the nut.
10. Install the rear support onto the middle pipe, repeat steps 6-9.
11. Connect the middle and front pipes, tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the specification.
12. Reinstall the driveshaft (see Section 4).
