The rear brakes on 4WD models are identical to the drum brakes on 2WD models (two driving wheels). They differ only in the holes in the axle or drive axle holder bracket (see Chapter 9). The rear suspension of 1985-1987 4WD vehicles is different from that of 4x2 vehicles of the same years. On later models, the rear suspension of 4WD and 2WD vehicles is similar (see Chapter 10).
This chapter describes the distinctive features of the 4WD vehicle drive system, excluding the suspension used on 1985-1987 models (see Chapter 10).
