(Models with left-hand drive and automatic transmission)
1. Drain the automatic transmission fluid (see chapter "Maintenance and general check and adjustment procedures").
2. Remove the right drive shaft (see section "Front drive shafts").
3. Remove the cover.

4. Unscrew the bracket mounting bolts.

5. Disconnect the intermediate drive shaft (A) from the gearbox output shaft.
Note: When removing, hold the intermediate drive shaft in a horizontal position so that the sharp splines of the shaft do not damage the seal (B) of the gearbox output shaft.

(Right hand drive and 4WD models)
1. Drain the automatic transmission (variator) working fluid (see chapter "Maintenance and general check and adjustment procedures").
2. Remove the right drive shaft (see section "Front drive shafts").
3. Unscrew the bracket bolts (A and B).

4. Disconnect the intermediate drive shaft from the gearbox output shaft.
Note: When removing, hold the intermediate drive shaft in a horizontal position so that the sharp splines on the shaft do not damage the gearbox output shaft seal.
