Note: Lubrication of the hub bearings is not required. If the bearings are worn or damaged, the hub is replaced entirely.
1. Loosen the wheel nuts, lift the car and place it on stands. Remove the wheels.
2. Remove the brake drum or disc (see Chapter 9).
3. Unlock the hub mounting nut, unscrew it and remove the thrust washer (see fig. 14.4).
4. Pull the hub off the splines. Use a puller if necessary
5. Install the new hub and thrust washer, tighten the new nut to specification and lock the nut.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
